If your hair is long, ask your caregiver to braid it back for you, being careful not to let the hair flop on the back. I find the feeling of having my hair brushed back soothing. Once braided, your hair will be securely out of the way.
Purchase a decorative wastebasket, like the one at the left, and remove any top, and you will have a smile-inducing chuck bucket. I think the ones made by Sanrio (maker of Hello Kitty) are perfect for this purpose because they are cute, lightweight, just the right size, and easy to wash out.
