About Besunami

Yomiko Readman from Read or Die, my anime alter ego.

Who is Besunami?

.:Birthday:. June 18th
.:Shape:.Celtic knot
.:Favorite Subject:. Languages
.:Least Favorite Subject:. Economics. Allowing imaginary numbers to rule the world just doesn't make sense to me.
.:Obsessions:. Anime, the pursuit of kawaiiness, foreign languages (in particular: Japanese, Latin, and German), making AMVs, reading, proper grammar and use of the English language, and crafts. As a born scholar, bibliomaniac, and B.A. Lit., I take custodianship of the English language very seriously.
.:Religion:. Jehovah's Witness (Bible Student)
.:Favorite Anime:. R.O.D. (Read or Die), both the OAVs and the TV series
.:Favorite Colors:. Pink, red
.:Favorite Flower:. Versilias rose
.:Favorite Element:. Water
.:Favorite Form of Exercise:. (not a surprise after the above) Swimming
.:Favorite Food:. New York Steak
.:Least Favorite Food:. Vinegar (Just the smell makes me sick!)
.:Favorite Animal:. Dogs
.:Favorite TV Show:. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, hands down. Mariska Hargitay rocks! Criminal Minds, Bones, and Close to Home are close runner-ups. I never miss an episode if I can help it. Oh, and Mythbusters is totally awesome as well!
.:Favorite Clothing Retailer:. 3-way tie: NY&Co, Nordstrom, and Pajamagram
.:Favorite Online Retailers:. Overstock.com and Amazon.com
.:Wish List:. A cure for RSD. A house with a library for my books. A doggy of my very own - either an American Eskimo Dog or a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Forgiveness of my college loans. Failing those, an all-expense-paid trip to Boston to research Longfellow. ^_^
.:Motto:. Lux aeterna ixion exsuperit et nitet in tenebris.
For those who have not studied Latin, the rough English translation, leaving out some of the subtleties of word choice, is, "The eternal light perpetually overcomes and shines in the darkness."
I was amazed to find in my bible study that the same idea is expressed in the Scriptures in the book of John:

"And the light is shining in the darkness, but the darkness has not overpowered it." (John 1:5, New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures)

What a beautiful and comforting sentiment!
.:Theme Song:. Lux Aeterna by Morten Lauridsen, as performed by the Los Angeles Master Chorale Sinfonia Orchestra with conductor Paul Salamunovich
